Owner Margaret Curtis first noticed the Lincoln Log model home for sale as she and her husband were driving by on their way to their family camp in the Town of Horicon. It had formerly been a dental office.
“I liked the location and knew I could create a business in that space right on Main Street. I wasn't looking for a building, but I was looking for a business,” she says.
“We closed on the building in November 2012, and started gutting it. There were a lot of different phases to the project; obstacles and some dead ends — but we kept pushing forward.” Panther Mountain Traders opened its doors on October 19, 2018 after extensive remodeling.
“The building has undergone a wonderful transformation and definitely adds to the ambiance of the town,” says Chester Town Supervisor Craig Leggett. “We wish Panther Mountain Traders all the best!”
“It is definitely a place you want to stay for a visit as well as shop,” says North Warren Chamber of Commerce Marketing Manager Julia Pucciarelli. “This store is filled with such beautiful items! It is a great addition to our town!”
Items for sale include Adirondack inspired furniture, home decor, locally crafted candles, vintage finds, and other artisan-made gifts.
